About the Artist

Hi, I’m Rosie, an Irish artist from County Wexford!

I enjoy creating an eclectic range of art and crafts from Celtic knot work to needle felting. I draw inspiration from a wide variety of themes such as Irelands history, lore and landscape. I spend a lot of time exploring Irelands mythic and historic sites, as well as the wild countryside of the west of Ireland. These experiences permeate my creations.

I have a Bachelors degree in Ancient and Medieval History and Culture from Trinity College Dublin as well as a Masters degree in Irish Mythology and Folklore from UCC. Both of these heavily influence my work. The knot work found in medieval manuscript illuminations, particularly those from Ireland and Scotland, with their incredible scale, detail and rich colours, are a one such source of inspiration in my prints, as are the megalithic stone carvings at sites such as Newgrange and Knowth.

I love trying anything new, from basketry and cordage making to felting and foraging, most of which influence my creations in one way or another. Other than that, I’m most likely to be found with my two dogs (who are also the namesakes of this site) in the garden, in the middle of the woods or up a mountain .
