'Bealtaine' Unmounted Print
This unmounted A4 print is inspired by Bealtaine, the ancient Irish festival held around the 1st of May, strongly associated with fire to this day. This was also seen as the beginning of summer, a time when cattle in Ireland would be traditionally moved to their summer fields. Today, it is often celebrated with the lighting of ceremonial bonfires.
The original artwork for this print was created with a blend of oil pastel, coloured pencil, graphite and ink.
