'Bran' Mounted Print
A 22.5×30cm fine art print in a 30×38cm mount depicting Bran, one of a duo of hunting hounds belonging to Fionn Mac Cumhaill, one of the legendary heroes of Irish mythology.
Sceolán and Bran, brother and sister, were actually Fionn’s cousins! His aunt Tuiren was pregnant but her husband was the lover of Uchtdealb, a woman of the sídhe. In a fit of jealousy, she turned Tuiren into a dog, and whilst she later transformed back into a human, the two children she had had when she was a dog remained as hounds. They were extremely loyal to Fionn, and played an important role in many of his adventures.
