'Lughnasadh' Unmounted Print
An A4 unmounted print inspired by the festival of Lughnasadh.
One of the origin stories of this ancient festival states that the god Lugh started the festival as a way to honour the passing of his foster-mother, the Firbolg queen Tailtiú. It was marked with a period of feasting, games and feats of strength. It came to be associated with the beginning of the harvest season, also an association of Tailtiú, celebrated at the beginning of August.
